Faith or belief in Islam is the foundation of human life. In fact, the beliefs that all of us have shape and mould our lives regardless of what religion or way of life we ascribe ourselves to. These beliefs determine how we think, act and perceive life in general.
So why is Faith or Iman in the Unseen so important as a pillar of faith within Islam? It is the basis upon which you believe in Allah, The day of Judgement, and all things that we’ve been informed about past, present and future that we cannot experience with one of our five senses (Touch, Smell, Hear, See and taste). We cannot perceive Allah but we know of Him through his revelation, the Quran. If you reject faith in the unseen then you reject the very existence of Allah.
However, in this article, I want to focus on how belief in the unseen is really going to help you create happiness in your life, how to turn your life into something great insha’Allah. Belief has the power to transform your life into whatever you want it to be insha’Allah.

Summary of the Benefits today’s Video covers:
Allah says in Surah Al Baqarah, Verse 3:
الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
Those who believe in the unseen and establish the prayers, and spend from that which we have given them.
Allah describes those who believe as having three characteristics. However, when referring to the believer in this verse, He swt calls them Mutaqeen. The Mutaqeen are the highest level of the believer, those that are most beloved to Allah.
Allah describes them to be those who:
- Believe in the Unseen
- Establish the 5 daily prayers
- Are givers not takers
You see, Belief in the Unseen leads the Muslim to believe in Judgement day. If there is no judgment day, we can do as we please with no consequence for our actions. This is one of the main reasons why the Polytheist of Makkah first rejected the message at the advent of Islam.
So, the Mutaqeen, due to their belief in the Judgement day will be aware that one day they will stand before Allah, so they establish the Prayers. That belief is what helps them to do the actions that will help them in the hereafter and serve their purpose in life. So, belief in the unseen can really mean a lot to a Muslim.
The last thing Allah describes the believer with is being those who give in charity. Charity can be monetary or otherwise. Just being kind is an act of kindness in Islam. However, giving from the wealth that we love really raises one’s level in the sight of Allah.
In this verse, Allah outlines for us what an elite Muslim is like. The bar is set and anyone can reach it. It takes practice and effort, but you and I can become from the Mutaqeen.
All it takes is:
- Believe in the Unseen (based upon knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah of course)
- Establish your daily prayers, don’t miss them or give them the least priority in your life
- Lastly, become a giver. Give in charity, give your time, give your skill to others that need it, and the least you can do is make Dua for others.
InshaAllah if you can add this into your life you will be counted amongst the best of Muslims that Allah describes in this verse. Let’s do this ?
