We all have desires for different things, and there are so many ways of getting what you want in life. However, in this article I am going to tell you exactly how you can get anything you want in life from Allah.

Sometimes people can help you, other times they can’t but Allah can and will always help you to get the best out of your life. So how can you get anything you want from Allah? The formula for successfully getting what you want from Allah is simple:

1. Believe in the Possibility

2. Then take steps towards making your dream a reality & eliminate distractions

3. Dua to Ask Allah for help ( The powerful Dua that will bring your Miracles, and ask the one who can give you anything.

If there was one way to attain anything it’s to ask the only One who can and will give you anything.

So how do you go about doing this is what we will discuss in today’s Quran lesson for life.

The lessons we are about to learn have been inspired by the verse of the Quran:

“You are the best of people. You enjoin in good, prevent the bad and believe in Allah.”

Surah Aal-Imran, verse 111.

  1. Believe is the first step to getting what you want from Allah

Getting what you want is easier if you are the type of person that achieves those dreams. What I mean is that it’s much easier for a person who believes themselves to be fit, to take a daily walk, or someone who believes that they are productive to get organized. The actions of taking a regular walk, or getting organized align with who you believe yourself to be.

So, if you really want something, make your goal becoming the person that achieves these things. It will be much easier to actually get what you want.

Allah teaches us in this verse of the Quran that you are the best of the people. Allah swt doesn’t put you somewhere in the middle or the bottom end of the spectrum. He swt tells you that you are the best of humanity because of the beliefs you have.

This is a crucial lesson because Allah is teaching us that we can be who we want by believing in that. Belief is the thing that makes people who they are.

So, as we’ve established the number one way to become who you want to be is to first believe that you can become that. Believing that you can do it, is to believe that you can do anything.

Believe that nothing that can stop you from becoming who you want. I believe you can do it because you’ve already done this multiple times in your life, we all have.

When you were a child and you watched movies or cartoons, you watched people and read about people who impressed you, maybe super heroes that you looked up to. What happened afterwards? When you finished watching you start to behave as though you were that super hero; you were that person that you are trying to emulate.

Parents call that playing games, role play but what’s actually happening is that you are using your imagination to become that person. We all did it, it’s the way Allah created us.

Using your imagination, you start talking like them, you started behaving like them, you start dressing like them. You started behaving in exactly the way you perceived that person to be. And, for a while there you believed that you were that person

When you become a student, you do exactly the same, you adopt that identity and you become the student. Then again when you start out in the working world, what did you do? You were given the title of assistant, or trainee or something and you assumed that role. You started to do the things that a qualified person would do. You started to behave it and imitate like that person. We do it all the time.

People in their minds are training for that perfect role. But while they are training they behave like the one they are trying to become. Like in my early year career, I was working as a consultant but in the beginning I was a trainee. I was a trainee and I would sit and watch the managing consultant and I would watch how they would behave. How they would do their daily tasks and then I would emulate them, I would copy them.

Children do it all the time, we do it all the time. We all behave like how we want to be.

So, if you want to become anything then you have to look towards what you want to become and you have to start acting out those roles. When you start behaving as though you are heading towards becoming that person, that will be your first step to getting what you want insha’Allah.

You can’t become a lawyer, you can’t become an accountant, you can’t become a teacher or any of these things until you start to do the things that these people do.

The people who have years of experience, they all began where you are now – having no experience. When they decided that that’s who they want to become, they started to behave like that person.

You will only ever get what you want from Allah when you believe that it’s possible and Allah will give it to you.

  1. Take the steps to Actualize your dreams

As Allah swt says in the verse that you are the best of People because you do the Good. Enjoining in the good means taking the steps towards actualizing the good.

Whatever you want in life can and will come to you if you take the action required to make it a reality. To do this you need to first seek out the knowledge that you need to become that person, to get the things you want.

Like any person of any trade or any profession, you need to acquire the amount of knowledge and understanding that is needed in order to attain your goals.

Remember you need to be the person who has succeeded in getting what you want. Take the steps towards understanding the knowledge. For example, a doctor has to study medicine before they can practice that profession before they can actually help people.

Become a professional, learn how to be like a professional. A professional is someone that has mastered a specific area of skill. A professional is someone that is continually learning and growing in that area

They’re continually seeking out an education in that path. And you need to do that exactly the same. So you need to find out exactly what they know and then you need to learn that.

Once you have your knowledge you need to actually do the Good as Allah mentions in this verse by taking continuous action.

Keep acting like you are already the person you need to be to get what you want then take consistent actions, working to improve yourself daily. Don’t stop being that person until you get what you want. If you keep doing the actions of that person eventually you will become better and better and better until you become the best.

You become be better than anyone else. And if you want to become the best in that role or in that position at work or anything else that you trying to become, then you need to keep taking action every single day whether you feel like it or you don’t.

Because most of the time we have the emotional ups and downs, we have lack of motivation, we have a lack of will power, and we have a lack of energy. So just keep focusing on the ONE next step, don’t constantly judge yourself for not getting there quick enough. If you keep at this you will get there by the permission of Allah swt.

Eliminate all distractions, or find ways to get around the obstacles that will prevent you from achieving your dreams. We are distracted by social media, we are distracted by entertainment, by all sorts of things. You need to decide on what you want more, the goals and dreams of your life OR the distractions that waste your time and keep you from actually getting what you want out of life.

If it’s important enough to you, you will just do what you need to as long as it doesn’t go against the Good that Allah commands us within the Quran and Sunnah. Some people will go to any lengths to get what they want, even things that Allah has prohibited for us. So it’s important to know that Allah will never put your success and happiness in anything Haram.

This leads me onto the final and most powerful tool you have in your took kit. And that is Dua.

  1. Dua to Ask Allah for help & Dua will bring you miracles

Allah is the One that can give you anything so, if you’ve done the above and you are constantly taking action, then you have the most took left.

Rely upon Allah, have tawakkul (reliance). Just as you persistently take action, you must be even more persistent in calling upon Allah for help.

He, the Most Glorious, the Most Compassion, the Most Powerful can give us anything. This is the most important tool that the believer has but I left it last because we must understand that Allah expects us to do our part.

It’s not good enough that we believe only. Allah always connects beliefs with actions throughout the Quran, just like in this verse. In fact, this verse Allah says:

“You are the best of people, because You enjoin in the Good”

Allah shows us clearly that action is necessary to become the best you can be. But action alone won’t help you succeed. You need to believe in Allah, because it is He, who gives us the results and outcomes we seek.

I can’t express how important this is, it’s probably one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in my years of study and research into the Quran and Sunnah and how I can use it to optimize my life.

Allah gives us clear guidelines to follow, but it requires us to study, contemplate and action in order to get the best out of life.

If you make Dua for the impossible, Allah can make it happen. There is nothing beyond His abilities. Afterall you are merely asking for something from his Creation

Finally, I want to reiterate the importance of becoming the Person of success over and above the simple attainment of goals. You can attain something in life, but when you return to Allah you will leave all your possessions behind in the dunya.

However, if you become a person of greatness as Allah describes you in this verse, you will not only attain this worldly life, but you will take that person to the Akhira with you. The character that you build, the deeds that you accumulate will all go with you to the eternal hereafter.

To demonstrate how the Companions of the Prophet (Pbuh) lived like this, I’m reminded by the story of Umar ibn Al Khattab (RA) who came upon to Prophet (Pbuh) and Abu-Bakr Sadiq (RA) and they were both crying. So, Umar (RA) asked them “Why are you?” He wanted to know what it was that they were doing, what they were feeling, what were they thinking. And his response was that tell me what it is because if it doesn’t make me cry then I will force myself to cry.

He (RA) knew that so long as you continually behave in a certain way, you will become that way. He wanted to be like the Prophet (pbuh) and so he would emulate Him.

I pray this is of benefit to you, take action, believe it’s possible and share this with someone you think it will benefit insha’Allah.

May Allah swt give you the greatest success.
